01Story

How I got here

Based in
Kabul, Afghanistan
Time zone
Afghanistan Time (UTC+4:30)

I studied computer science at Kateb University in Kabul from 2018 to 2022, specializing in software design and development, and graduated with honours. I then spent more than 1,300 hours in Microverse’s full-time remote program, pair-programming with developers from other countries through GitHub workflows, code review and daily stand-ups.

Most of my professional work is business software. At Netlinks I customized Odoo ERP modules in Python and managed PostgreSQL databases. At Parsa Technology I built and maintained the Java and Spring Boot back ends of two products: Muhaseb.af, an accounting system, and Saraf.af, a currency exchange platform. For Pro Futuro Consulting I develop applications on Zoho Creator, CRM and Flow, automate their workflows in Deluge, and connect them to other systems through Python APIs and React front ends.

Alongside that, I build web applications for international clients as a freelancer, such as the Hyper Taxi booking platform for a tour operator in Iceland and a multi-company inventory system on Odoo. I also founded Netrises, a small web development and design studio where I lead the technical side.

02Approach

How I approach a project

The principles I bring to a project, whether I am part of a team or the only developer on it.
  1. Start from the workflow

Software earns its keep when it removes a step, a spreadsheet or a phone call. I map the current process before deciding what to build.

  2. Choose proven tools

React, Django, PostgreSQL and the platforms you already pay for, such as Zoho or Odoo, cover most needs. Anything new has to justify itself.

  3. Show working software early

Short iterations, feature branches and reviewable pull requests, even when I am the only developer on the project.

  4. Leave it maintainable

Readable code, a documented setup and clear handover notes, so the next developer can move quickly.
